Unit price discipline
Most public works contracts are unit price, which means the final cost is determined by measured quantities rather than by the bid total. Owners who do not verify quantities carefully pay for material that was never placed. We measure, document, and reconcile as the work proceeds rather than reconstructing it at the end.
Agency coordination
A single roadway project may involve the city, the county, Caltrans, a water district, a sewer district, three utility companies, and a regional agency with permit authority. Each has its own review cycle, inspection requirements, and acceptance process. Coordinating them is most of the schedule risk, and it belongs on the critical path from day one.

Do you work directly for public agencies?
Yes. Cities, counties, water and wastewater districts, school districts, ports, and joint powers authorities retain us directly under professional services agreements. We also work as a subconsultant to prime engineering firms on agency contracts.
Can you handle unit price quantity disputes?
Yes, and preventing them is better. Contemporaneous joint measurement, documented as the work proceeds, resolves most quantity questions before they become disputes. Where a dispute already exists, we perform the reconstruction and analysis.
Are you familiar with Caltrans standards?
Yes. We have managed and estimated work built to Caltrans standard specifications and encroachment permit requirements, including roadway and bridge construction within and adjacent to state facilities.
